International Advisory Board
The International Advisory Board
Stakeholder Forum has had a number of Vice Presidents who have helped with advise in a range of international topics, many of these are former Chairs of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development: Henrique Cavalcanti (1995 Brazil), Mustafa Tolba (1997 Egypt), Simon Upton (1999 New Zealand), Juan Mayr (2000 Columbia) and Bedrich Moldan (2001 Czech Republic)
It has been clear throughout that the IAB was there for advice and that the UK Board of Directors of SF took strategic decisions. Financial responsibility for Stakeholder Forum is with the UK Board of Directors chaired at this moment by Andrew Binns.
The IAB members advise Stakeholder Forum on its:
- General direction and focus around international sustainable development processes
- Production of background policy briefings
- Potential members for its project advisory boards
- Activities that would benefit stakeholders around intergovernmental processes
- How to support stakeholders in the processes around Rio+20, UNFCCC and MDG+10 and MDG+15
- Publications eg books, reports – helping to identify potential contributors
- Newsletters, Network and Outreach offering contacts within their organisation or stakeholder group who might write for the newsletters
- Producing radio programmes
The present IAB Chair is Derek Osborn Stakeholder Forum’s President
